| Leib Coodin | Departed from London on May 1, 1924. Arrived in Quebec City on May 11, 1924. | Leib was the first of the Nesanel branch to emigrate. Leib’s parents were worried that he would be conscripted into the Russian army. They sent him to Palestine where he lived for about 3 years. Two of his army age cousins (possibly Bakalinskys) were with him. Leib came down with malaria in the swamps of Palestine. Ultimately, the family decided that he should go to Canada where relatives from other branches of the Kudinsky family would welcome him. | Leib and his cousin Max Coodin travelled to London where they boarded the SS Antonia. They arrived in Halifax after a 10 day Atlantic crossing.![]() |
